“These people are amazing!” – Elyse

Elyse Tubb is a Resourcer who brings a wealth of expertise from her professional background, including a number of years recruiting for 250 varied roles within Australia’s Defence Force.

“My job at Be. Recruitment is to source candidates – mainly disability, mental health and youth workers,” she explains.

“That involves chatting to candidates, finding out what they’ve been doing, and what they’re best at, to be able to slot them into the right role.”

Once candidates have been matched with a position, Elyse is there to assist with the application process, from submitting all the required documentation to preparing candidates for their interviews.

“I’m very supportive of the candidates, getting them through the process, making sure they feel comfortable with everything, and trying to answer all the questions that I can.”

“I’ve got my phone on every day so they can always reach me. I learned that highly conscientious level of care when I was a flight attendant and it’s stuck with me since.”

“Supporting mental health is especially rewarding” – Claire

Claire Caughey focuses on sourcing candidates to fill permanent roles – particularly clinicians such as psychologists, and social workers in the mental health space.

“Supporting mental health clinicians is especially rewarding at the moment, when so many people’s mental health has suffered through the pandemic,” she shares.

“We do a lot of work with organisations that support young people, which I think is very important with young people going through so much at the moment.”

With extensive recruitment experience in the social care sector, Claire also helps prepare candidates’ resumes and follows up their references.

Driven by doing good

Claire enjoys working in social care recruitment because of the candidates.

“They’re very passionate about what they do,” she explains. “And you’d have to be, after the extensive training they’ve had to do for these roles.”

“These people are really interesting; they’re doing something worthwhile for the community.”

Recruiting in the social care sector has also been inspiring for Elyse:

“I love speaking with all these people in fields that are really making a difference. I get off the phone every day and I’m like, ‘These people are amazing!’”

“Social care isn’t for everyone – not just anyone could do the work they do and deal with what they deal with. I certainly couldn’t. But I absolutely love my job because I get to work with candidates every day who have so much patience and strength. They’re amazing people.”

“I feel such a sense of reward at the end of each day, like I’ve really done something to help society.”
